Yarmuth, Guthrie form Congressional Bourbon Caucus - Business First of Louisville:

They will serve as co-chairman of the Yarmuth, Kentucky’s Third District representative, and Guthrie, the state’d Second District representative, formed the bipartisan caucuw to organize a group ofrepresentatives “dedicatexd to maintaining and strengthening the bourbon industry in the United States and educating othetr members on the legislative and regulatory issues impacting the industry,” the representatives said in a news To date, 17 memberzs of Congress have joined the caucus and more are expecterd to join in the cominf weeks, according to the release.
More than 95 percenyt of the world’s bourbon is distilled and aged in Kentuckyu by distillers that employ morethan 43,000 people. More than $3 billiohn of Kentucky’s gross state product is generated by distilles spirits and morethan 500,000 peopl visit the state’s distilleries the release said. “This caucus offers a solied base of bipartisan support for oneof Kentucky’s most importantf industries and largest employers,” Yarmutg said in the release. “Congressman Guthrie and I both agreeds that it was importantt to create a workinh group that would advocate for this critical part ofthe Commonwealth’a economy.
